The Addressable LED Driver is a hands-on soldering project designed to demonstrate how WS2812 protocol works using discrete logic. Three buttons control individual color channels while an oscillator generates precise timing pulses that a counter sequences into 24-bit data frames. As logic gates shape and combine these signals, LEDs display mixed colors without any microcontroller, visualizing how digital circuits can replicate software functions through hardware alone.

How it works ?

This project is a fun, proof of concept of how to control addressable LEDs without a microcontroller. Each button can trigger a single colors, you can mix colors, and address up to 64 LEDs.
