The Sound Reactive LED is a hands-on soldering project that turns sound into light using just four transistors. An electret microphone picks up audio and is converted it into a signal strong enough to drive an LED. The result is a circuit that visibly reacts to claps, music, and speech a simple introduction to how analog signals become digital switching with only a handful of components.

How it works ?

An electret microphone picks up audio and passes it through a 100nF coupling capacitor into the first transistor's base. A 1M resistor sets the sensitivity of this stage. When sound hits, the first transistor switches and its collector drive the second transistor, which fires the LED. The result is a clean on-off flash that follows the rhythm of whatever sound is in the room.
